Welcome to the review off:

How not to summon a demon lord

Synonyms: Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu

In regards to the MMORPG Cross Reverie, Sakamoto Takuma boasted an overwhelming strength that was enough for him to be called the Demon King by the other players. One day, he gets summoned to another world with his appearance in the game. There, two girls insist, “I am the real summon master.” Takuma gets slave-turning magic used for summoned beasts cast on him by the girls.

However, the peculiar ability “Magic Reflection” is invoked! The ones that were turned to slaves were the girls!

Takuma is bewildered. He’s the strongest magician but, he doesn’t have any social skills. Panicking, the first words that come out are the ones that he used inside the game role-playing the Demon King?! “I’m amazing you say? Of course I am. I am Diablo… The one feared as the Demon King!”

This is the story the Demon King (acting) that would soon inspire the world and his other world adventure that he plunges through with his absolute strength, raise the curtain!

My thoughts:

While the isekai genre seems to be going at a steady pace, there’s no sign yet of it coming to a stop. This anime avoids the the pitfall of many an isekai story:

Instead of making a single season, ending on a cliffhanger, and never actually getting a season 2.

It tells a concise and short and sweet story within the 12 episodes in which it ran. I don’t think you could get better than this.

The plot was good, good enough to warrant a tear or two, good laughs but with soooooooo much fan service it some times leaves one red faced if watching with another person in the room.

The animation was pretty good. It was consistent throughout the season and remained so until the very end. Not a hint of rush work nor sloppy lines. It was impressive that the consistency and quality never dropped.

Character Design:
Good character design. Each one being unique and with each their own look and feel. It was achieved well and portrayed well. No same face syndrome here.

The music was not over bearing nor non existant. It really successfully created a mood very subtly however also there was nothing really outstanding.

A really concise and to the point tale. However sometimes really predictable but it never failed to deliver on the story. It has a strong underlying plot with a really out of this world fan service. Really fun to watch also.

My scores:

Animation: 9
Artwork/Environment: 8
Character Design: 9
Story/Plot : 7
Music: 7
Voice Acting: 8

Overall rating:

So why watch this anime?
Even though with so many isekai anime around, this anime stands a head above most. The story is the winning factor with some raunchy fan service if you’re into that kinda thing. (If not: watch the censored version)

So give this a watch and let me know what you think, agree and disagree on.

Thank you for your time it’s it’s time to say bye-bye and until the next time.
